Valencian pottery — the name Llibrell tells the story
From 12€
A “llibrell” is a traditional Valencian bowl, first documented in Valencia in 1329 — thick walls, low rim, used for centuries in kitchens and workshops. Our family doesn’t carry that name by accident: at our second shop on Carrer d’Alcoi 8 we curate handmade pieces from local potters, glazed in the colours of the Mediterranean.
Highlights
- Hand-thrown by Valencian potters
- Classic llibrell bowls, jugs and plates
- Glazed in bone, clay orange and olive green
- Viewable at Carrer d’Alcoi 8 — next to the candle shop
The process
Each piece is one of a kind: local clay, thrown on the wheel, one week of drying, first firing at 980°C, glaze, second firing at 1050°C. Small cracks or colour variations are part of the craft — no two pieces are identical.

Dama-Vela
The Dama-Vela is our homage to the famous Dama de Elche, the 4th-century BCE Iberian icon. Each candle is dipped in three layers of colour and then hand-sculpted so the iconic headdress emerges. A lasting keepsake of the Costa Blanca — ideal as a gift or centrepiece.

Mediterránea
Deep sea blue, chalk-washed Altea façades, warm ochre sand, hot bougainvillea pink: the Mediterránea line captures the coastline palette in layered, carved candles. Every colour is tempered and laid down by hand — no two pieces are alike.
