Valencian pottery — the name Llibrell tells the story

From 12€

A “llibrell” is a traditional Valencian bowl, first documented in Valencia in 1329 — thick walls, low rim, used for centuries in kitchens and workshops. Our family doesn’t carry that name by accident: at our second shop on Carrer d’Alcoi 8 we curate handmade pieces from local potters, glazed in the colours of the Mediterranean.

Highlights

  • Hand-thrown by Valencian potters
  • Classic llibrell bowls, jugs and plates
  • Glazed in bone, clay orange and olive green
  • Viewable at Carrer d’Alcoi 8 — next to the candle shop

The process

Each piece is one of a kind: local clay, thrown on the wheel, one week of drying, first firing at 980°C, glaze, second firing at 1050°C. Small cracks or colour variations are part of the craft — no two pieces are identical.
